Kirby said in a press statement that "there are three bases in the United States ready to accommodate up to 22,000 Afghan allies in the coming weeks.
"The United States believes it can move 5,000 to 9,000 people a day out of Kabul," Kirby said. He pointed out that "the United States is working to maintain security at Kabul airport, where there are approximately 3,500 soldiers.
