United Nations Security Council called on Monday, for an immediate seize of all hostilities in Afghanistan.
"We call for the formation of a new Afghan government through negotiations that is united, inclusive and includes women," stated the council.
The statement included, "We call on all parties in Afghanistan to allow unimpeded humanitarian access,”
"We stress the importance of counter-terrorism in Afghanistan to ensure that its territory is not used to threaten or attack any country,"
"We call on the Afghan parties to abide by international human rights standards and to stop all abuses and violations,"
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned the international community against the return of Afghanistan as a safe haven for terrorists once again.
"The dreams of an entire generation in Afghanistan are now at stake," Guterres said during the emergency session of the UN Security Council to discuss the developments in Afghanistan, adding that "I urge the Taliban movement to exercise restraint in Afghanistan,"
"All parties must protect civilians and ensure that aid reaches them," he added.
Guterres went on saying, "I call on Taliban and all parties to respect international law in Afghanistan, and I urge all countries to be ready to receive Afghan refugees and to refrain from any deportations,"
He added that "the international community must unite to ensure that Afghanistan is not used again as a safe haven for terrorists," noting that "we are receiving chilling reports of severe restrictions on human rights across Afghanistan,"
Guterres stated that "UN personnel in Afghanistan have not been threatened,"
