Today, Sunday, the Taliban called on its forces to storm the Afghan capital, Kabul, and enter the areas outside the control of Afghan forces in Kabul.

For his part, the Afghan Defense Minister had said that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani handcuffed us and fled.

An Afghan official had confirmed that President Ashraf Ghani left the country for Tajikistan, after the Taliban reached the outskirts of Kabul.

A spokesman for the Taliban had confirmed their waiting for a peaceful transfer of power as soon as possible, amid a state of anticipation about what is happening in Afghanistan, where the Taliban movement is advancing quickly, showing no signs of retreat or slowing down and finding nothing to impede its control of the provincial and regional capitals after the withdrawal. American forces left the country, leaving negligible numbers to protect its embassy and airport.

Taliban fighters approached the Afghan capital, Kabul, and the Taliban were reported to have arrived in Maidan Shar, 40 kilometers from the capital, and Mazar-i-Sharif, the only major city in the north still under Afghan government control.
