The Mass Media reported that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani submitted his resignation from his position, on the background of the entry of "Taliban" militants to the outskirts of the capital, Kabul.
"Afghan President Ashraf Ghani intends to step down today, Sunday," Al Arabiya TV said, quoting Afghan media.
"The process of transferring power will take place today in the presidential palace," they added.
It is noteworthy that the Taliban movement has taken control of most major cities of strategic importance, and continues to advance in light of the retreat of government forces in front of them on all fronts.
