The Joint Operations Command confirmed today, Thursday, the existence of great security cooperation with the Asayish forces in exchanging information about the presence of the terrorists.
Command spokesman Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "there is great cooperation with the Asayish forces in exchanging information about the presence and targeting of terrorists," noting that "the Joint Operations Command is the one who does these efforts, plans and implements them."
On the other hand, Al-Khafaji explained, "The Operations Command has begun to protect the electric power transmission towers by setting ambushes, in addition to the incoming intelligence and security information, as well as conducting security patrols and aerial and technical reconnaissance," noting that "the people are cooperating in providing information about the parties that are targeted.
He added, "The information provided by our detainees is being used about the possibility of terrorist organizations targeting the energy towers," noting that "the technical and intelligence effort is very much activated in this field."
Al-Khafaji added, "Our forces thwarted the targeting of power transmission towers in the governorates of Nineveh, Salah al-Din, Diyala, Anbar, northern Baghdad and other areas," noting that "this indicates the effectiveness and ability of our security forces in this aspect."
