Al-Halbousi and Toller discuss 3 issues

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and the US Ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller, discussed today, Thursday, 3 issues, including the file of the early parliamentary elections.

The media office of the Speaker of Parliament stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, received the American ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller."

The statement added, "The meeting discussed bilateral relations, developments in the political situation in Iraq and the file of early parliamentary elections, as well as the importance of the outcomes of the strategic dialogue between the two countries and support for Iraq in achieving development and stability, and a number of issues of common interest."

During the meeting, the US ambassador affirmed his country's support for the democratic process in Iraq and for holding the upcoming early parliamentary elections.
