The Civil Defense Directorate announced on Thursday, that a fire broke out inside the General Company for Oils, southeast of Baghdad.
The Directorate said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the civil defense teams were able to control and put out a fire incident that broke out inside the fat-melting tank with an area of 750 square meters in the Al-Mamoun Oil Factory at the General Oil Company affiliated to the Ministry of Industry, southeast of the capital, Baghdad.
The statement added that civil defense teams managed to isolate and extinguish the fire without recording any human casualties while limiting the material damage inside the factory.
The Civil Defense Directorate indicated that an investigation has been conducted by police forces based on the report of the forensic expert, to determine the causes of the fire.
