The launch of Iraqi-Egyptian meeting to activate the joint memorandum of understanding

     The Ministry of Water Resources announced Today, Sunday, the launch of the meetings of the Iraqi-Egyptian Technical Committee to activate the joint memorandum of understanding.

    The ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "it was held at the ministry's headquarters and in the presence of Minister Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Walid Ahmed Ismail and the high-level technical delegation, a meeting of the joint Iraqi-Egyptian technical committee was held for the purpose of starting to activate the work of the memorandum of understanding signed between The two countries during the visit of the Egyptian Prime Minister to Iraq recently, in order to provide technical support and consolidate relations in the field of developing water resources management and the irrigation sector and exchanging information and experiences in this important and vital field. 

    The minister stressed, according to the statement, "the necessity of exchanging technical expertise with the Egyptian side to keep pace with global developments in the field of developing water resources in both countries, in addition to the advanced expertise that the Republic of Egypt possesses in the management of water resources and the irrigation sector."

    He pointed out that "Iraq has gone through challenges that are no less important than the challenges that faced Arab Egypt, which were represented by the economic blockade in the past years and its war against ISIS terrorist gangs," noting that "the climatic changes that the world is going through, Iraq had the largest share of them with the rise in temperatures and the decline in rains in It is one of the major climatic challenges at the present time.

    The minister called "the Egyptian side to participate in the research center, which the infrastructure has been prepared for its establishment in Baghdad with the Turkish side."
