Iraqi Artists Syndicate: 400 playwrights will participate in the Iraq National Festival

    The head of the Iraqi Artists Syndicate, head of the Iraq National Theater Festival, Jabbar Joudi, confirmed today, Sunday, that four hundred playwrights along the map of Iraq will participate in the festival, which is being held at the initiative of the Arab Theater Authority, while confirming the participation of 18 performances during it.

    Jodi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the festival aims to revitalize local festivals and support them in the Arab world," noting that "it is being held at the initiative of the Arab Theater Authority under an agreement with it and Iraq is the ninth Arab country to conclude such a cooperation agreement."
    He added, "The Iraq National Theater Festival includes eighteen theatrical performances, ten of which are in the official competition and eight parallel shows, which are reinforced by daily critical sessions and a major symposium entitled "Theater and the City."
    He explained, "The sessions deal with various theatrical concepts, in six seminars, in addition to studies on performances, as well as the establishment of a qualitative plastic exhibition by theatrical director Salah Al-Qasab, the opening of the new Syndicate Theater and the Tishreen monument by Fadel Watout."

    He pointed out that "the Artists Syndicate has issued four books, and it will hold signing parties for them during the festival."
    He stressed that "the importance of the festival lies in the reunification of Iraqi playwrights from north to south, with four hundred personalities, under the auspices of the President of the Republic, Barham Salih."
    He pointed out that "the festival will witness the distribution of valuable financial prizes for the best integrated show, best actor, best actress and best director," noting that "the participants in financing Iraq's National Theater Festival are the Presidency of the Republic, the Arab Theater Authority, the Media and Communications Commission, the Central Bank and the Association of Iraqi Private Banks."
