The Arab Theater Authority has fulfilled the dream of Iraqi intellectuals with a wide-ranging national festival, in its first session, the Sami Abdel Hamid course, organized by the Artists Syndicate in partnership with the Authority.
The head of the festival, the Syndicate of Iraqi Artists, d. Jabbar Judy Al-Aboudi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The festival's activities will start at the beginning of next August and will continue until the eighth of it, on the theaters of Semiramis, Al-Najah and the Syndicate," noting that "the opening ceremony begins with the arrival of representatives from the governorates of Iraq participating in the festival."
He pointed out that "a procession will take place from the guest accommodation hotel to the Semiramis cinema, where the opening activities will take place and they will be greeted by folk music and an exhibition board.
In turn, a member of the festival’s preparatory committee, head of the theatrical division in the Syndicate, Diaa El-Din Sami, said: “The opening begins with transferring the delegations from their place of residence at the Palestine Meridian Hotel, to the celebration hall in Semiramis Cinema, in a procession of heritage cars and folk music,” noting that “paragraphs of The ceremony was deliberately performed by a dramatization type, entitled "The Scarf", which revolves around a scarf that is stolen from a girl, and the people go in search of it.
Sami explained: "I hide the meaning of concealment and chastity in the scarf, and they are values that shed its fall and vanish with the loss of the scarf, and it is an interpretive presentation directed to the reality of the situation in which the Iraqis are living now," noting that "afterwards, he received the official words and presented the play of the Israfil trumpet."
