The Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee recommended today, Sunday that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research review preventive plans to confront the Corona virus and not insist on conducting exams for institutes and universities in person and setting them electronically.
The committee’s member of the Parliamentary Crisis Cell, Faleh Al-Ziyadi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the statements of some ministries are not based on a professional basis, especially the statements of the Ministry of Higher Education that the next academic year will be in attendance,” noting that “the school year will depend on the situation.” sanitary and epidemiological conditions in the country.
He added, "The exams should be according to what has been studied, and if they are electronic, the exams will be similar to what happened earlier," calling on the Ministry of Higher Education not to insist on attendance exams, to review its preventive plans, and to take all precautionary measures in proportion to the epidemiological situation. the target group at the moment. He pointed out that "there is a genetic mutation of the virus," noting that "the epidemiological situation in recent days has recorded a remarkable increase among the youth group and university students," warning of "the high risk of infections as a result of the attendance exams." He added, "The electronic exams will have preventive and better repercussions on the country."
