Nineveh’s authorities announced on Sunday, that it had thwarted an attempt to blow up a power transmission tower south of Mosul.
The governor, Najm al-Jubouri, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The attempt to detonate one of the power transmissions towers south of Mosul near the village of Al-Muaibedi was thwarted by the 1st regiment, brigade 75, Division 16.
al-Jubouri added, that two homemade IED’s attached to mobile devices were dismantled by the engineering teams of the 16th Division.
