The Civil Defense Directorate announced on Sunday that its cadres managed to control and put out a fire in a hotel in central Karbala, rescuing 78 of the hotel guests.
A statement by the Civil Defense Directorate, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that Civil Defense teams rescued 78 persons after a fire broke out inside the four-storey Dai Al-Hussain Hotel with a number of shops on the ground floor located in Al-Saddah Street in the center of the holy city of Karbala.
the civil defense ambulance teams provided pulmonary resuscitation for those who suffocated as a result of inhaling the toxic products of the fire before transfer them to the nearby hospital to receive the necessary care there, affirming that a girl died in the hospital as a result of suffocation, the statement mentioned.
The incident was controlled and an investigation was conducted, based on the report of the forensic expert to determine the causes of the fire.
