Kurdistan region recorded the first case of Delta Coronavirus Variant

    The Minister of Health in the Kurdistan Region, Saman Al-Barzanji, announced today, Thursday, the registration of the first case of the Delta Coronavirus Variant.
    Al-Barzanji said during a press conference attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA):
    "Coronavirus infections in the region are constantly increasing compared to the past weeks, especially since the number of infected people and those sleeping in quarantine centers has become many times what it was."
    The Minister of Health in the region confirmed, "The first case of Corona Delta was recorded," noting that "the ministry has been following up the cases for some time to ensure the presence of this type."
    And he called on "citizens to adhere to preventive measures and apply health measures."
    He stated that "the vaccination rate in the region for those over 18 years old reached 9% of those who received the first dose, and that 5% of those who received two doses," calling on all those covered to "register their names to reach a 20% vaccination rate at the end of this year."
