MOT: Sunken Crane Vessel is for Panama not Iraq

The Minister of Transportation Nasser Al-Shibli, confirmed on Wednesday, that the sunken crane vessel that was revealed in the past hours is not Iraqi, but it comes with the flag of Panama, while noting that there is information indicating the possibility of Iraqis on board.

"What sank today is not an Iraqi ship, but rather a crane vessel with the flag of the State of Panama, and it is not affiliated with any Iraqi party. The fire occurred near the Emirati shores, with Arab sailors on board, and there may be Iraqis and foreigners,” Al-Shibli told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

He stressed that "there is no current information showing the exact number of Iraqis who were on board,”
