The Ministry of Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Region revealed on Monday, a plan to establish joint forces between the region and the federal government to secure the separating areas, while confirming the continuous security coordination between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army in the joint centers.
Brig. Gen. Osman Mohammed Mustafa, Ministry of Peshmerga Director of Media, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that the coordination continues between the Peshmerga and the Iraqi army, noting that the joint centers have started their work as the important information is exchanged between the two parties on a daily basis.
He added, the centers were formed in the provinces of Diyala, Kirkuk, Mosul and Makhmour district to exchange information and send it to the higher coordination centers in Erbil and Baghdad, as well as providing the ministries of Peshmerga and Defense with important information.
He also pointed out that there is a plan to establish joint forces in the border areas to carry out joint military operations in the lines that need a joint security operation.
