the Ministry of Health(MOH) announced on Saturday, the start of testing new devices to detect all the viruses within two days, while confirming that Iraq has not yet recorded an infection with the Indian covid-19 variant.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Saif Al-Badr, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There are upgraded test devices and laboratories capable of detecting any type of virus, that will start its work within two days, pointing out the importance to adhere to the rules of prevention and social distancing, wearing a mask and washing hands as well as receiving the vaccine.
Al-Badr added that there is a large and noticeable increase in general in the number of corona injuries, especially among middle-aged young people, including those with critical cases.
Al-Badr also affirmed that the ministry has begun implementing the expanded plan in importing and distributing vaccines, in addition to increasing the number of the outlets to receive the vaccine, noting that the Ministry has repeatedly warned of the seriousness of the situation that requires concerted efforts, including the role of the media in warning of the danger of this virus.
The first and second British strains are the most registered in Iraq, and so far Iraq has not registered the emergence of the new or mutated Indian strain, Al-Badr said.
