The United Nations announced that it had received the request of the Republic of Haiti to send UN forces in order to ensure its security, especially key infrastructure, after the assassination of President Jovenel Moise, noting that sending forces is a matter to be decided by the UN Security Council.
Media sources reported, from a source in the office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, as saying that our special political mission in Haiti (BINUH) has received a letter and are now under study.
The source explained that the issue of sending troops under any circumstances will be decided by the Security Council.
