The Tourism Authority in the Kurdistan Region confirmed that there is a tendency to establish large projects and new tourist facilities in the region in the event that the number of tourists continues to increase.
The spokesman for the authority, Nader Rostayi, said in an exclusive statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "more than ten thousand tourists from various Iraqi provinces visit the provinces of the Kurdistan region," noting that "this statistic is high, and it is expected that the number of tourists will increase during The next few days, to reach its peak during the days of Eid al-Adha.
He added, "There are no difficult procedures facing the entry of tourists to the provinces of the region, and that there are facilities aimed at reducing red tape at security checkpoints and entrances to the provinces of the region," noting that "Iraqi citizens can enter the Kurdistan region easily ."
Rostayi pointed out that "in the event that the number of tourists continues to increase, new and diverse tourist facilities will be established by the government and private sectors," noting that "large projects have been started in the Soran area in Jabal Hasan Bey, and others in the Gali Ali Bey waterfall, and events will be held. These projects are large and diverse to develop the tourism sector.”
