The Ministry of Health and Environment confirmed in a warning statement after recording 9,189 cases of corona cases today, Thursday, that the epidemiological situation has become dangerous and the third wave of the Corona pandemic may be more severe.
The ministry's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the reports of public health experts confirm that the epidemiological situation has become dangerous and the number of infections is rapidly escalating in this wave that we previously announced in our data that it may be more severe than the waves that preceded it."
He added: "Today, we recorded the highest number of injuries since the beginning of the pandemic, and this is a result of the citizens' indifference to all segments of the preventive measures, commitment to which has become almost non-existent, especially wearing masks and physical distancing."
The ministry confirmed, "The continuation of its heroic staff to provide the required care for Corona patients sleeping in isolation centers and lobbies, while providing all necessary medicines and supplies, which helped reduce the number of deaths despite the increase in injuries to unprecedented levels."
The ministry called on citizens to take the matter very seriously, to return to full commitment to preventive measures, and to immediately go to vaccination centers throughout the country to receive the vaccine, because it is the way to break the chain of transmission and control of the disease through the vaccine.
The Ministry of Health called on all ministries, governmental and private state institutions and organizations to take all preventive measures within their institutions, and urged employees to receive vaccinations.
It also called on all media channels, bloggers on social media, religious and clan leaders, and civil society organizations to exert more efforts to raise health awareness and urge citizens to adhere to preventive measures and receive the vaccine as soon as possible.
