The Director of Emergencies at the World Health Organization, Michael Ryan, announced that the rates of infection with the Corona virus in the world during the past two weeks, have stabilized at a “very high level”.
“If we look at the curve of injuries over the last two weeks, we can see that there is some kind of stability, but it is at a very high level,” Ryan said at a press conference.
He pointed out that the epidemiological situation in the world is better than it was two or three months ago.
He added that there has been a significant decrease in the number of the infected cases in some countries, but the situation is completely different in other countries.
He said that this may be due to various factors, including the effectiveness of detecting virus mutants, easing restrictions and increasing mixing between people.
And the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, had warned that the world was in a dangerous stage of the epidemic due to the presence of mutated versions of Corona, such as the “Delta” version.
