President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed the need to involve young people in the labor market and to give priority to low-income groups, while noting the importance of the social security and public retirement laws.
The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received the Minister of Labor, Adel Al-Rikabi, and stressed during the meeting that the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is an important and pivotal ministry because of its connection with the support and attribution of an important class of citizens, and for its role in huge and varied tasks.
Salih stressed "the necessity of giving the elderly, orphans, the homeless and those with limited income a top priority in order to achieve social justice and provide a free and dignified life. He stressed, "the importance of the social security and public retirement laws, and the necessity of developing and applying them in a fair and balanced manner, to include all classes entitled to them, and to support these groups with more by qualifying them to obtain jobs and training them through supporting small projects," pointing to "the importance of activating the Directorate of Survivors' Affairs in the Ministry and allocating the capabilities necessary for that.
