President Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin have wrapped up the second of two scheduled sessions at their summit Wednesday at a historic lakeside villa in Geneva, the White House said.
The summit comes as relations between the United States and Russia are at their lowest point in 30 years. During an opening session, Putin said he hopes for a “productive” meeting, while Biden said it was important to be meeting face to face.
Both the White House and the Kremlin have attempted to temper expectations and said not to expect any breakthroughs.
Some issues expected to have been covered include recent cyber attacks that the United States has said originated from Russia, arms control, human rights and climate change.
