Baghdad - INA
The High Commission for Human Rights warned today, Wednesday, of the exacerbation of bullying in society.
Commission member Fadel Al-Gharawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "any attack on any citizen is rejected, as every citizen enjoys basic rights related to his security and safety, and when the attack turns into a systematic work for a public figure who presents a noble art such as the artist Fayez Smurf and leads him to death." The person who committed the assault must be punished according to the Penal Code.”
He added that "bullying has become a big phenomenon, especially for women and children, and what is happening in social media and even in institutions and society," noting that "this bullying has multiple forms, whether it degrades human dignity or refers to the issue of race, religion, belief, language or nationalism." .
He added, "This phenomenon has begun to exacerbate in society due to the lack of real and serious measures to address it, as well as a weakness in legislation."
