The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, called today, Saturday, all civil society organizations to urge the Iraqi public to participate broad, active and conscious in the elections, noting that the refrain elections is a retreat from the national duty.
Al-Hakim said during a speech at the Fourth Conference of Civil Society Organizations, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “All organizations are called to work to urge the Iraqi public to participate broad, effective and conscious in the elections,” noting that “elections are a fundamental right for every citizen, as it is a duty My patriotism is achieved by participating in building the country and working to stabilize it.”
He added, "Abstaining the elections or not paying attention to them is not only a waiver of a basic right for the citizen, but rather a retreat from a patriotic and emotional duty that contributes to sparing the country from dangers and woes.".
