Legislate a law to recover proceeds of corruption

A number of deputies stressed the importance of approving the law on recovering proceeds of corruption submitted by the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, and while they indicated that the law would grant the government wide powers, they indicated that it needs international support.
The representative of the Saeron Alliance, Qusay al-Yasiri, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic has submitted the law to recover the proceeds of corruption to the House of Representatives, and the law will pass during this parliamentary session." Al-Yasiri added that "the law is very important and work will be done on its legislation in the House of Representatives as soon as possible, in addition to working to strengthen it by granting the government great powers through a law to fight corruption and arrest the real corrupt and their elders, and not as happens in previous governments that accusations and arrests are directed around Small corruption and leaving the big corrupt.
