Palestine welcomes the truce

    The countries of the world and their leaders welcomed the truce between Hamas and Israel, which ended the confrontations that lasted 11 days .

    The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, stressed that the two sides have a responsibility that goes beyond restoring calm and is to start a serious dialogue to address the root causes of the conflict, stressing that "Gaza is an integral part of the future Palestinian state, and every effort should be made to achieve true national reconciliation that ends the division ."

    For his part, US President Joe Biden said: "We remain committed to working with the United Nations and other influential international bodies to provide urgent humanitarian assistance and mobilize international support for the people of Gaza and the efforts to rebuild Gaza ."

    He added, "I believe that everyone deserves to live in security and safety and to enjoy equal degrees of freedom, prosperity and democracy ."

    "His administration will continue its calm, steadfast diplomacy to this end. He believes that there is a real opportunity to make progress and I am committed to working on that, " he affirmed .

    As for Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, he wrote on Twitter, “I received with great pleasure the phone call from US President Joe Biden, during which we exchanged views on reaching a formula for appeasement of the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Gaza Strip. The visions between us were consistent about the need to diplomatically  manage the conflict between all parties. "

     In turn, the United Nations envoy for peace in the Middle East, Tor Winsland, welcomed the "ceasefire between Gaza and Israel, and extended its deepest condolences to the victims of violence and their families, and commended Egypt and Qatar for the efforts made in close contact with the United Nations to help restore calm."
