Salih: The region needs to ease its imbalances and tensions

The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed today, Thursday, that the region needs to ease its imbalances and tensions, indicating that the stability of Iraq is based on the security of the whole region.

The media office of the President of the Republic said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that President Salih received the Vice President of the Government of the Russian Federation, head of the Russian side in the Iraqi-Russian Joint Committee, Yuri Borisov.

He added, "At the beginning of the meeting, Yuri Borisov conveyed the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin to President Barham Salih, while the President of the Republic Borisov conveyed his greetings to President Putin."
He continued, "During the meeting, they discussed relations between the two friendly countries and ways to develop them in all fields, the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of security and defense, as well as reviewing trade, economic and cultural cooperation in a way that achieves the common interests of the two friendly peoples, and the work of the Iraqi-Russian Joint Committee and the need for joint pursuit were discussed."
