INA – BAGHDAD
President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih met the Russian Ambassador to Iraq, Maxim Maximov, on the occasion of the end of his duties in Iraq.
During the meeting, both discussed Iraqi-Russian ties and how to develop these relations and broaden cooperation across all the levels in the ways that serve the interest of the two nations.
They also made talks about recent developments regionally and internationally as well as issues of common concern, with focus on the need that there should be further dialogue to promote regional peace and security.
President Salih emphasized how important it was to sustain regional and international efforts that will help us to continue countering terrorism, and furthermore these efforts are also required to ease tensions that could impact negatively on promoting developments and prosperity in the region.
