The State Department and the US Embassy agreed, today, Thursday, to accelerate joint efforts to activate the strategic framework agreement between the two countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The Ministry's Senior Undersecretary Nizar Al-Khair Allah received today, Thursday, the American Ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Toller, at the Ministry's headquarters, as the two sides reviewed the results of the third round of the strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States."
"It was agreed to accelerate joint efforts to activate the strategic framework agreement between the two countries, and to hold meetings of specialized working groups in the areas covered by the agreement in order to deepen and expand areas of cooperation between the two countries."
"The two sides discussed the formation of the Iraqi Military Technical Committee and its American counterpart in order to expedite their meeting to implement the outcomes of the third round of strategic dialogue regarding the transition to the new stage of security cooperation and the redeployment of combat forces outside Iraq," the state said.
