On Monday, the Qatar Football Association apologized for hosting Gulf 25.
The text of the Qatar Football Association President Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani’s message submitted to the Secretary-General of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reads the following: “I am pleased to extend to you the best regards, referring to the above subject and in accordance with Article No. (2-a) from the list of championship competitions, which includes sending invitations to the national federations to participate in the 25th Gulf Cup one calendar year before its establishment, and since this invitation has not been received to date, due to the lack of identification of the host country until this moment, and in support of us to give the opportunity The Iraqi Football Association will host the tournament due to the vital importance it represents to the brotherly Iraqi people and to the Iraqi football fans who are eagerly looking to host this precious tournament in Iraq, and based on the above, the Qatar Football Association decided to apologize for hosting the Gulf Cup 25 as an alternative country.
