Iraq condemns Turkish air strikes on residential areas in Sinjar

INA - Baghdad Foreign Ministry condemned the Turkish air strikes on the Sinjar areas on the civilian population. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub in statement to Iraqi News Agency (INA) said: at the time when the ministry rejects these attacks it categorically denies there is no any prior coordination between Baghdad and Ankara in this regard. "The ministry calls on Turkey troops again to leave the Iraqi territories which are located (Ba’ashiqa) Mahjoub said because its presence contravenes international agreements and respect for the principle of mutual sovereignty. He added that the depth of relations and cooperation between Iraq and Turkey should be based on a unified vision to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and in order to preserve the lives of defenceless civilians and keep them away from tension areas.   Translated by Emad Atta
