INA - Baghdad Iraqi Minister of Agriculture Falah Zaidan said on Wednesday that Turkey promised to halt the construction works of Aleso Dam till next year, affirming that Tigris River’s releases would increase during next months. Turkey would supply Iraq with 400 megawatt as the first stage of the electrical connection agreement between the two countries, Zaidan added, showing of a Turkish offer to make a partnership to construct two dams on Tigris, one in Turkey and the other on Upper Zab River to divide water and power resources. Zaidan confirmed the Prime Minister’s and his escort delegation’s visit to Turkey was highly successful and fruitful for both sides. Translated by Baha Salaman
