The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed that passing the General Budget Law for 2021 needs political consensus.
Committee reporter Ahmed Al-Saffar told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Sunday, that "the Finance Committee will determine the proposals that it deems necessary to change and how to distribute public expenditures within the spending units."
He added that the Finance Committee will reduce some budget items and increase other items according to the need of those items.
He pointed out that "the draft budget law in the House of Representatives needs cooperation and political consensus."
