The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed today, Thursday, the need to support artists and writers in various fields of culture and literature, and to promote cultural gatherings and festivals.
A statement of his media office received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that “the President of the Republic received in the Peace Palace in Baghdad a group of artists from Baghdad and Sulaymaniyah participating in the Sulaymaniyah Nights Forum held by the Department of Cinema and Theater in cooperation with the General Directorate of Culture and Arts in Sulaymaniyah and the Kurdish Fine Arts Association”
According to the statement, the President of the Republic stressed the need to support artists and writers in various fields of culture and literature, and to strengthen cultural forums and festivals, and to cooperate between cultural institutions in Baghdad and the Kurdistan region in order to enrich the cultural movement in the country.
He also listened to a number of artists present about the cultural scene in the country and the issues facing them, appreciating his reception and support for the cultural and literary circles.
