Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee confirmed its support for the Ministry of Oil’s move to invest the gas sector, indicating that the delay in investing it caused a great financial waste.
The deputy of the committee, Jamal al-Muhammadawi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Thursday: "The committee supports the ministry’s approach to concern itself with the gas sector and to stop its import to operate the electrical stations.
He added "This file has been delayed investing in the ministry, which has partnership contracts with Shell, calling for" serious work to invest in the fields with free gas, namely Al-Mansuriyah, Crutch and Siba, and to make use of it to feed power stations instead of import. "
