Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, stressed the importance of supporting the strategic study to address salinity in the Shatt al-Arab.
This came during Al-Hamdani meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Baghdad, Michael Rentenaar, to discuss all matters related to cooperation between the two countries in the field of water and water resources, according to a statement by the media office of Al-Hamdani received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement added, "The meeting focused on the importance of supporting the modernization of the strategic study in the next stage, technically and financially, and crystallizing all visions regarding the memorandum of understanding and the program of cooperation in order to achieve water security and address salinity in the Shatt al-Arab,"
For his part, the Dutch ambassador expressed his country's readiness to cooperate and study the priorities of the Ministry's projects in order to provide the necessary support to them and to proceed with their implementation as soon as possible.
