United Nations mission in Iraq commended efforts of the Council of Judges, in completing the manual counting and sorting process of electoral votes.
“The Council of Judges in the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) completed the process of manual counting and sorting for provinces and abroad voters in appropriate time; and a transparent, organized, credible, and professional manner”; UN representative in Iraq Jan Kubis informed INA in a report.
“Mr. Kubis expressed his encouragement to the Council and relevant state institutions for their attention to announcing results in the appropriate timing and swift expeditious resolution of any pending appeals. An experienced team of UN Experts monitored the counting process and provided advice and assistance. The UN is prepared to provide more assistance to the Council While supervising the scheduling of the results, until its final approval by the Federal Court”. The Mission’s report added.
