MWR: Determining more than 20 dams to generate electric power

 Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Water Resources revealed that 20 dams have been identified on the Tigris and Euphrates rivers to generate electric power only and not for storage, while it confirmed that the lifting of violations on the rivers included all governorates.

 A spokesman for the ministry, Awni Dhiab, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The ministry is in the process of studying a strategic water and lands in Iraq,” noting that “more than 20 dams have been identified on the Tigris and Euphrates and the tributaries into which these dams flow only to generate energy and not for storage.  ".

 Dhiab added that "the process of water movement from a dam to a dam to generate energy, and this process is planned both in the region and throughout the two rivers, the Tigris and the Euphrates," pointing out that "this plan is in place in all countries of the world, in order to produce clean electrical energy, you do not need to fuel.
