Barham Salih, President of the Republic, discussed today, Monday, the standardization of the mechanisms of the border crossings.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received today in Baghdad, the President of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Al-Waeli."
President Salih stressed the importance of supplementing the state budget with revenues from border crossings and developing resources by strengthening control and auditing procedures, and adopting internationally approved methods at ports in a way that contributes to increasing trade exchange.
The President of the Republic stressed "the necessity of controlling the border crossings, unifying the mechanisms of work in them, combating forms of corruption by applying laws and regulations in force for the work of the authority, as well as strengthening measures to protect the local product."
