Member of Parliament, Bader Al-Ziyadi, confirmed the parliament’s intention to monitor the government program of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi after a vote on it.
Deputy Badr Al-Ziyadi said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There is an established official committee in Parliament called" the Committee for Strategic Planning and Follow-up of the Government Program, "noting that" this committee is concerned with following up the government's performance and submits periodic reports to the Presidency of Parliament on the performance of The work of the government and the extent of implementation of the government program. "
He added that "this committee will continue its work to monitor the government program to see the extent of its application on the ground and the accomplishments achieved from that."
The President of the Republic, Barham Salih Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, was charged with forming the new government.
The Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi pledged to form a government that represents all spectrums and rejected party candidates. He also pledged to fight corruption, provide job opportunities, and dissolve the economic committees of political factions.
