The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee confirmed today, Sunday, that the new government is obligated to implement the decision of the House of Representatives regarding the removal of foreign forces.
Committee member Bader Al-Ziyadi told the Iraqi News Agency , that "the House’s decision regarding the removal of foreign forces was discussed with the Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi." He pointed out that the Prime Minister-designate will resort to practical steps to remove foreign forces after the formation of the cabinet.
The House of Representatives voted on a resolution obliging the government to remove foreign forces from Iraq. The President of the Republic, Barham Salih Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, was charged with forming the new government.
