PM issues directives on the percentage of labor in investment projects

Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi issued directives on the proportion of manpower in investment projects and calculating the service of engineers in the private sector.

Following are the directives issued by the Prime Minister and received by the Iraqi News Agency :

1. Emphasis on the implementation of the provisions of Article (30) of the Investment Law No. (2) for the year 2009, which specified the size of the local manpower by not less than (50%) of the total manpower in the investment project.

2. The ministries and entities not affiliated with the Ministry and the governorates shall take appropriate measures regarding increasing the number of Iraqi engineers, technicians and specialists in foreign companies contracted with the aforementioned entities.

3. The Ministry of Oil and other government agencies should include in the contracts that will be concluded with foreign companies texts guaranteeing the determination of at least (50%) of their engineering cadres, which are reserved for engineers and professionals.
