Iraqi Vice President Hassan Karim al-Kaabi on Thursday addressed FIFA president Gianni Infantino, calling for a total lifting of the embargo on Iraq and allowing him to embrace Arab and international football teams at home and among his fans.Iraq is witnessing the presence of many heads of state and official delegations and holding various Arab and international events and conferences on its soil, Kaabi said, calling on Infantino to visit Iraq to see the positive atmosphere it is witnessing.
Al-Kaabi also addressed AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa to call for activating his efforts to lift the ban on Iraqi stadiums, the statement said. A lot of events like hosting the AFC Cup final in Basra, and the West Asian Championship currently held in Karbala and Erbil.
