Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf said on Thursday that Iraq is seeking to provide a suitable atmosphere to develop a common position on Syria, stressing the need to resolve this crisis politically, and away from the military solution, especially with Baghdad's readiness to coordinate with the countries of the world in order to end The suffering of the Syrian people.

Al-Sahaf said in an exclusive interview with the Iraqi News Agency on the margin of Iraq's participation in the recent Astana meeting: Iraq participated for the first time in the work of Astana talks in its thirteenth as an observer at the level of ambassador with high-level representatives of the United Nations, Jordan and Lebanon.
