President Barham Salih received the Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh and his accompanying delegation, in Baghdad on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they conferred about the enhancement of bilateral relations and the development of prospects for cooperation between the two countries in a way that serves the common interests.
He emphasized Iraq's stance in support for the brotherly Palestinian people to ensure a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause.
Salih referred to the keenness of the Iraqi State that the Palestinians residing in Iraq fully enjoy their legitimate rights and that all their entitlements have been guaranteed.
For his part, the Palestinian Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas to President Salih, and asserted his country’s desire to strengthen relations with Iraq in all fields.
Shtayyeh appreciated Iraq's supportive stance for the Palestinian cause at all levels.
The meeting also reviewed the latest Arab and international political developments and updates, as well as the necessity for establishing a common regional system anchored in cooperation and economic integration in a manner that achieves stability, progress and prosperity for the peoples of the region.
