The Federal Supreme Court announced the election of Iraq as Rapporteur of the Scientific Committee in the Union of Courts and Arab Constitutional Councils, pointing out that the vote came unanimously.

"Iraq participated in the meeting of the executive office of the Union of Courts and Constitutional Councils which was held in Amman," Ayas al-Samuk, spokesman for the court, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

He added that "the Executive Office elected Iraq representative of the President of the Federal Supreme Court Judge Medhat al-Mahmoud as a member of the Rapporteur of the Scientific Committee of the Union of Courts and Arab Constitutional Councils," noting that "the vote of members of the Executive Office was unanimous."

It is noteworthy that Iraq was elected as a representative of the Federal Supreme Court member of the three members of the Executive Office of the Union of Courts and the Arab Constitutional Councils of 15 members, during the tenth meeting of the General Assembly of the Union in April last year.
