Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed Iraq's firm position on Sunday in condemning the Zionist aggression and supporting the historical rights of the Palestinian people.
A statement from the Prime Minister's Media Office received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said, "The Prime Minister received a phone call from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, during which they exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr."
According to the statement, the call included discussions on the situation of the Palestinian people, with the Prime Minister affirming Iraq's firm and principled position in condemning the aggression and supporting the historical rights of the Palestinian people.
For his part, Abbas expressed his thanks and appreciation to Iraq for its supportive and steadfast stance on the Palestinian cause, its provision of all forms of support to the Palestinian people, and its efforts to promote stability in the region.
