Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed on Sunday that the executive branch has made significant progress in resolving stalled projects.

The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "Al-Sudani today inaugurated the Martyr Hussein Attia Bridge and Tunnel Project, and launched the implementation work for the construction of three bridges and the rehabilitation of two main roads in Maysan Governorate.

According to the office, "The Martyr Hussein Attia Bridge and Tunnel Project, named after one of Maysan's heroic martyrs who was martyred in the liberation battles against the terrorist ISIS, is one of the most prominent strategic projects in the roads and bridges sector in the governorate, as it will contribute to alleviating traffic congestion and improving the flow of vehicles and public transportation."
Regarding the three bridges, the statement explained that they "include the Dur al-Naft Bridge, which crosses the Tigris River and is 288 meters long; the Qalaat Saleh Bridge, 650 meters long; and the Abdullah bin Ali Bridge, 2.5 km long. These are service projects that facilitate transportation and citizen movement, and also contribute to relieving congestion in the governorate center, which is witnessing increasing population growth."

Al-Sudani also launched the implementation of two rehabilitation projects: the 64.5 km Al-Amara-Al-Mashrah-Ghazaila-Al-Shaib border crossing road with a concrete bridge, and the 80 km Al-Amara-Al-Bateera-Al-Fajr road in Maysan Governorate.

According to the statement, the Prime Minister confirmed that "the executive body has made significant progress in resolving stalled projects, focusing efforts on service and transportation projects, which are part of national development requirements."
