Japan's Financial Services Agency intends to review the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act to make crypto assets a legal financial product.
The agency noted that, as part of this move, "crypto assets will be subject to the country's trading restrictions, which prohibit buying and selling based on undisclosed insider information."
It also stated that it "will submit a bill to parliament by 2026 to amend the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act."
